Catch a Star, by Tamika Catchings

Tamika Catchings was not someone of my personal radar screen. But, I have a sister and brother-in-law who used to coach women’s basketball, and the subject matter caught my attention for that reason.

This is a fascinating autobiography. Pacing through her life, one sees the trials, tears, and triumph of an athlete. She is somebody who has overcome so much. She has a physical disability, was bullied, and a child of divorce. Many of us readers can relate to one or more of those issues.

Such a relatable person! I would love to meet Tamika Catchings and just see what she is like in person. Her powerful voice comes over the page, and you just know she’s cool.
